Reunion Programme


When & Where

Our Reunion will span three days, on Labour Weekend - Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd October 2023. Almost all events will be taking place at the School itself. Saturday and Sunday "Rugby" Breakfasts will be held at the Te Puke Citizens RSA. These breakfasts are to facilitate those wanting to watch the Rugby World Cup Semi-Finals.

5.00pm - 9.00pm  

Welcome Function (for those people who have registered and paid the $50)
Venue: TPHS School Hall
Drinks and nibbles in school hall.  One complimentary drink (voucher in lanyard pouch)


SATURDAY 21st Oct 2023


7.00am - 9.30am  

Rugby World Cup Semi-Final - breakfast at the Te Puke RSA CItizens Club
Te Puke Citizens RSA, Jellicoe St, Te Puke

If you have paid the $20 for your breakfast as part of your registration, the team at the Club has your name on their list.  If you have not already registered for the breakfasts, fear not!  You can turn up at the club from 7am for your 7.30am Buffet Breakfast and 8am RWC Semi-finals action. You can then pay your $20 per person directly to them.

10.30 am - 12 noon  

Saturday Day Functions (for those people who have registered for Attendance at Official Functions and paid the $80)

Mihi Whakatau - School Hall.  Nau mai haere mai kia koutou katoa.  The official opening ceremony on Saturday morning is called a mihi whakatau.  Some people will be familiar with procedures and others will not.  This ceremony begins at 10.30, so we ask that everyone who has registered for the Official Day Functions to please meet in the hall by 10.20, where the ceremonial proceedings will be explained.  

Please ensure that if you have not yet received your registration pack and lanyard at that stage,  that you leave time to collect these from the hall entrance before this time.  Please also give yourself plenty of time to find parking.  Nga mihi.

Morning Tea to be served in the School Hall after the opening ceremony.

Please arrive early.  While you are waiting for your photo, please line up in order of height, shortest to tallest.  If you’re not sure which group to join, make your best guess.  Try to pick the date range that includes the majority of your time at TPHS.

Lunch

Exchange the voucher in your lanyard pouch for your school lunch.  Find a spot either inside or elsewhere around the school to hang out with your friends and eat lunch, just like the old days.


1.30pm - 4.30pm  

School Tours

Student leaders will be offering guided tours to groups.  We recommend that you set aside a good amount of time to take in the memorabilia displays in the Student Learning Centre.  There is also a video recording booth in the Student Learning Centre, for those people who would like to record their memories of their school days.  

Please note that the Memorial Pools are opening for the season from 11am on Saturday. 

Before entering the Whare, please remove your shoes.


3.00pm - 4.00pm

6.00pm - 11.30pm 

Saturday Dinner and Dance (for those people who have registered and paid the $100.)

Band ”Distraction” - music from 70s and 80s

Pre-Dinner Drinks in Hall (voucher for single beverage, then cash bar). Seated Dinner in Gym. Karakia & Welcome.  Buffet to table dinner. Speeches and cutting of the cake. Band entertainment and dancing to follow in hall.

6pm: Drinks in school hall.  One complimentary drink (voucher in lanyard pouch)

6.30: Move to gym (reserved tables to enter first), be seated for karakia, first course

7pm: Main meal served - buffet to table (family style) table service

7.45pm: Toast - Warren Webber; Cutting of the Cake (cake made by Charmaine Webber) - Mary Alice Blackett with 2023 Head Students Harrison Hennell and Evie Gibney

8pm: Dessert and tea/coffee

8.30 band starts

11.30 band finishes, event close
